Shaun Pollard CEO
I was born and educated to “A” level in Truro in Cornwall and then went to Exeter University to study History at undergraduate level and then Theology as a post-graduate. From there I spent six years on a short service commission in the Royal Air Force involved in a variety of areas including airmen’s welfare, new buildings and maintaining the IT systems involved in monthly pay. At the end of my commission I qualified as a primary teacher in Gloucester working for a number of years in the local parish school where I was part of the senior management structure. I moved to Widnes in 1999 and was initially self-employed in the IT sector and through this became involved with the Hospice. I have been, successively, a lottery collector, the Lottery Manager, the Fundraising Manager, Director of Corporate Services and , since 2013, Chief Executive.
