Halton Haven is your local, independent Hospice which is situated near to the Brookvale Recreation Centre. Set in its own grounds it aims to provide skilled nursing and medical care within a peaceful and relaxed setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital environment.
Hospices provide palliative care which is the active, total care of people whose illness is treatable but cannot be cured. Control of pain, other symptoms, and of psychological, social and spiritual problems is paramount. The goal of palliative care is the achievement of the best quality of life for patients and their families.
Hospices are only for dying people, aren’t they?
No, that is a common misperception. Hospices are very much about living and making the most of what you have. We do laughter as well as tears.
What can the Hospice do for me and my family?
The Hospice aims to work with you, your family and other people involved in supporting your care such as your community team. Aiming not to take over your care, the Hospice can offer various levels of support, at different times through its range of services as the needs of you and your family change.
