Non-Hospice Events

There are many fantastic events happening in the local area which are not organised by Halton Haven. But you can still raise sponsorship for the Hospice by taking part! Just get in touch with Chris on 01928 712 728 or chris.andrews@haltonhaven.co.uk for sponsor forms.

Here is just a selection of some of the local events taking place this year…

For more details on any of these events, please visit the event website.

Featured Event: Dragon Boat Festival 2017

This year’s ‘Dragons and Flowers’ dragon boat festival in Liverpool takes place on Easter Monday (1st May 2017) and you can enter a team to raise money for Halton Haven!

Anyone who has taken part in a dragon boat festival before can tell you what an experience it is! The frenetic and competitive atmosphere gives the day an exciting feel whilst you and your team mates take on other boats in a friendly rivalry. The emphasis on team work and enjoyment will ensure you and your friends/family/colleagues have a great day out whilst raising vital funds for your local hospice!

The event is at Liverpool Watersport Centre (Queen’s Dock, L3 4DG).

The ideal number in a team is 20, with 16 people being allowed in the boat at any one time. You can compete with fewer than 16 people if required. All equipment and instructions are provided on the day.

Entry fee is £260 per team (just £13 per person in a team of 20)

Teams must be entered by Friday 21st April 2017

The event is limited to 20 teams so book your place early to avoid disappointment!

To enter, download the ‘D&F 2017 Team Captain Entry Form’ from the event website (www.pooloflife.net/?page_id=675) and return it with the entry fee to Christine Beckwith, Dragons and Flowers DBF, 6 Lillian Road, Liverpool, L4 0ST.

When entering your team, please mention that you will be fundraising for Halton Haven Hospice.

There is no minimum sponsorship level, you simply raise as much as you can for Halton Haven Hospice. Every penny you raise will help us fund specialist palliative care for people of Halton and surrounding areas living with terminal conditions.

You can create an online fundraising page at www.justgiving.co.uk/haltonhavenhospice or www.virginmoneygiving.com/charities/haltonhaven. (Do not use the MyDonate page listed on the event website as any donations made through this page will not come to Halton Haven.)
